What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are a non-invasive treatment used to reduce wrinkles, while simultaneously restoring volume and plumpness to targeted areas of the face. Often used for facial rejuvenation, dermal fillers restore natural facial contours of areas prone to skin volume loss during the natural ageing process, including lips, brows, temples and jawline. In addition to this, dermal fillers are becoming an increasingly popular treatment for enhancing one’s youth by augmenting high cheek bones and lips.

How do dermal fillers work?

As we age, we start to lose volume in certain areas of the face which can make us look tired and sunken. This is caused by the body’s decreased ability to produce collagen and elastin.

Unlike wrinkles which require muscle relaxants to soften them, facial volume and folds require a dermal filler to help re-volumise and hydrate the area. Made from a natural sugar already present in the human body – our dermal fillers are an affordable way to replicate the function of this naturally occurring substance and can restore fullness and volume in numerous facial areas.

How long will they last and when will I see the results?

Results are immediate, and will even allow you to resume your normal day-to-day activities immediately following the procedure.

Dermal fillers come in varying viscosities and thicknesses to ensure there is an appropriate product to suit all facial areas and personal preference. Depending on skin type, facial area and product, dermal fillers can last anywhere from 1-2 years. Please consult your medical professional for a more detailed analysis.
